The Ermine's Fur

On a vast castle’s gardens
Was Lady Ermine dressed in her beautiful coat
Embodying grace, purity, nobility,
Her silky fur was worthy of her grace.
No one could tarnish this beautiful watercolor
This work of art was made to last
But suddenly, a rat rushed out of the garbage
Approaching like a stain, ruining the masterpiece.
This creature, ugly, dirty, putrid,
Was hated, rejected and fled with unanimity
To feel him coming, no prophesy was needed,
His "sweet perfume" had an inimitable scent!

The Ermine, disgusted, began to make fun of him.
The rat, despite everything, with confidence, answered:
-"Oh, my good lady, you and I are identical!
-How? What do you insinuate?
Replied angrily the damsel,
You want me to believe that your appearance is misleading?
That you are among those who make all hearts beat?
-No, you misunderstood me, far from it, attention!
Appearances are not deceptive, only are our judgments.
I just wanted to make you understand, that despite our differences,
We share internally many similarities.
We are both living beings
Who have a thought, a heart, and feelings. "
Ermine feeling offended,
Started, without thinking to swear;
But suddenly, no longer a sound, she stopped,
And ashore, slowly she fell,
A shot had calmed her,
And by a red stain, her coat was soiled!
As for the rat, the same fate he suffered;
The bullet, its duty has accomplished!
And the fur, this sumptuous fur,
On a head, adorning a hat it finished,
Here is the irony of fate for this presumptuous.
But we shan’t help it; it's the circle of life!
No matter appearances and wealth; the same end everyone lives:
It's death, the end of the finite...
It's death, the beginning of the infinite...
