Ommi Sissi

Once upon a time there was a lady named Ommi Sissi. One day Ommi Sissi was sweeping away, and suddenly found a silver coin. So, she thought of buying something for her daughter, whose name was Fatima. She decided to prepare some fish. After she bought the fish and prepared them, she put them on a plate. Then she went back to sweep.

After a few moments, the neighbor's cat came to borrow a knife from Ommi Sissi. However, the woman responded angrily to the poor animal: "Don’t you see that I'm busy?! Go get it in the kitchen!" The cat went to the kitchen, and immediately smelled the delicious fish, he couldn’t resist, ate them, then took the knife and left.

After a while, Fatima returned home, and was very hungry. She went to the kitchen but didn’t find her surprise made by her mother. So, Fatima began to cry. Her mom arrived and understood the situation immediately. She waited for the cat to return, and when it did, Ommi Sissi cut suddenly his tail. She then said to the small thief that he’ll get his tail back when he’ll bring to her butter from the grocer.

The cat went to the grocer and asked for some butter, but the grocer told him "I’ll give you butter only if you give me milk!" So, the cat went to the cow and asked for some milk. The cow answered, "I would give you milk if you give me grass!" Then the cat went to the meadow and asked for grass, but the meadow replied, "I would give you grass if you bring me water!” So, the cat went to the river and asked it for water. The wise river finally answered: "I’ll give you water only if you promise to stop doing silly and mean things!" The cat accepted and could took the water!

The cat gave the water to the meadow, which gave back some grass. The cow received it and gave in return milk. The cat gave it to the grocer to get the butter. He finally went back to Ommi Sissi with the butter. The woman could, hence, bake a cake to her hungry daughter and returned the tail to the cat that became a good and kind cat since then!
