In a cave in the forest, no one dares peruse. But why, do you ask? We are all scared of course. Have you not heard of the creature inside? The Cuca!  I know it rather well so let me tell you about it.

   It glimmers and smells, but only at night, you may see the smoke coming out from inside. Those are spells, witchcraft and curses, for the thing you will is no simple monster. It certainly looks like one though, with its greenish thick scales and sharp nails and teeth. Piercing yellow eyes that will stop you in their tracks. That’s how hunters find their preys. Its all in the eyes you see. If they’re closed the witch monster has not much power, but what child would believe that?

   It is said the creature sleeps once every 7 years, so me and my brother decide to hunt it down. Of course, we didn’t think it through, we were but boys at the time! We went to the cave at sundown and hid when it went away to fetch ingredients for whatever potion it was brewing at the time. Now what happened next was something I will never forget. When it came back my brother and I jumped at it while throwing rocks. This of course angered the monster and at that moment it released the most hideous noise. Not a scream, not a screech just utterly terrifying. I just closed my eyes and ran, but my brother… well, let’s just say he had more courage in him.
